KZN Teams

KZN Trials and Participation

To be invited to KZN trials, a player has to be entered via her or his school that he/she is representing. Please speak to your softball teacher/coach.

KZN Trials and Participation

No player will be accepted for trials other than through their schools.

Trials are underway for the 2021 Summer Games that will take place in Gauteng from 15 to 20 December. Players born between 2006 and 2008 qualify to participate in trials. The age group that will represent KZN this year is U/15.

We hope return back to normality in 2022 which will include a school league and KZN trials to participate in the IRT’s in December.

The SOEA will resume early in 2022 and start date will be communicated later on this term.

KZN Trials

All 2018 A-Team players do not need to participate in Round 1 but should they wish to be considered into the 2019 teams, they would need to participate in Round 2 and pay the trial fee upon registration.

Round 1Boys Friday 23 August from 14:00 pm onwards.

We will start with the youngest age groups and this will be confirmed through the registration form given to their teachers.

Round 1Girls Saturday 24 August from 08:00 am onwards.

A schedule will be handed out to your softball teacher in charge at your school closer to the time.

KZN TEAMs, Trials and participation

Each player at this stage should receive a letter of information from your softball teacher in charge as the information is very important before you attend round 2 of trials.

Squads for the next round will be sent to your teachers by 27 August 2019.

Round 2 for all age groups boys and girls will take place on Sunday 1 September 2019 at Queensmead at various times.

Cost of trials is R40 per player which includes round 2 should they proceed.

KZN A-Players from 2018 will only be attending from round 2 and will be required to pay R40 upon registration at round 2 trials.

We are a non-profit organisation and our funds have been allocated to various development programmes this year as a sustainable and long term investment into our sport.

To be invited to KZN trials, we need to receive the form available to your teacher, which would need to be completed by the player’s school including a school stamp.

All squads will be announced by Tuesday 3 September.  No A and B teams will be announced until Monday 7 October.  We will give each player an opportunity to blend into the squad, pay their required payments and commitment fees, receive good coaching to enable them to develop during their squad training.

Please note:  Your child will not be included in the announcement of the A and B teams until the required fees are paid which you will receive on the information letter after selections from round 1.  The Association will not be in a position to assist any player financially but we are willing to assist families with more than 2 children chosen for KZN.
